Recognition of past service time

  
  Members that join or transfer to the Provident Fund Scheme may apply to the Pension Fund through the respective public service department, for recognition of all the past service time, with or without interruption, that has been rendered in public service department before 01/01/2007.  
     
  Application period  
  Application should be made within one year from the date of approval of enrollment to the Provident Fund Scheme or from the date of approval of scheme transfer.  
     
  Application procedure and documents required  
 

The applicant shall submit, within the application period prescribed and through the public service department responsible for his/her payroll, the written form (Model no.RP-4) provided by the Pension Fund.

  
  The form can be obtained from the respective department, or downloaded from the Forms Download.  
     
  Time needed  
  The application for recognition of the past service time will be completed within 7 working days counted from the following day after submission of all necessary documents.  
     
  Remarks  
 
1) The service time rendered under the terms of employment of provisional or definite nomination ("nomeação provisória ou definitiva"), Commission of service ("Comissão de serviço"), “Contrato além do quadro”, “Contrato de assalariamento” or “Contrato individual de trabalho” can be applied for recognition, but service time rendered under any situation mentioned in Paragraph 2 of Article 3 of the Law no. 8/2006 shall not be recognized;
2) The recognized service time shall be taken into account as contribution time for the Provident Fund Scheme, but may not be used for calculation of the contribution time premiums.
